Raising Money & Awareness for Mind, Bristol
At Home Leisure Direct, we are hosting events throughout the year to raise £10,000 for Bristol Mind, a charity that makes a huge difference to those suffering from mental health and mental wellbeing issues. We understand the pain and trauma of losing someone to mental illness and are determined to make a difference in the statistics.
Michelle (Meesh) Beresford was our Managing Director at Home Leisure Direct Ltd, and also a beloved wife, daughter, sister and aunt to her family and a dear friend to so many. Meesh suffered for many years with severe mental health issues, she tried so hard to overcome them but on 1st March 2022 at 39 yrs old, they all became too much and Meesh ended her own life. In her honour, and all those whom we have lost, Home Leisure Direct will be hosting a series of events to raise money and awareness for Bristol Mind.

We just can't get enough of the mud and we are back for more. We're completing a 15k Tough Mudder for Bristol Mind, following on from last year's successful 10k. It's a hardcore obstacle course designed to test your strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. This year we have a new team including Sam, Tom M, Tom W, Ben, Dan G and Ollie. Let's see if together they can make it through the mud and exhaustion to raise more money for Mind.
When: Saturday 12th August
Where: Badmington Estate

Tough Mudder
Our incredible team battled through 10 miles of obstacles in Bristol's Tough Mudder event. By climbing over mounds and sliding through pools, they have already raised a life-changing amount for Mind. If you would like to donate, please visit our Just Giving page. Well done team!
Bullseye at the PDC World Darts Championship
We showcased our new Commercial Bullseye Game at Alexandra Palace for the PDC World Darts Championships giving visitors and professional players alike the chance to play the officially licensed game. Almost 4,000 darts enthusiasts played the game with a credible 906 scoring 101 or more with just six darts to win an instant prize, such as a classic mini bendy bull keyring or even a mini speedboat.
Not only was playing the game serious fun, a chance to throw some flights outside of viewing the competition but by playing and giving a donation we raised over £7,000 for Mind.
A huge thanks to everyone who played and donated!

Poolathon - 24 Hour Pool Marathon
What an outstanding performance! World and European Champion, Ben Flack, completed a full 24hrs of playing pool for our charity Poolathon and stacked up an impressive 250 games of pool total. Led by Amy, our finance manager, the event was a huge success with an incredible amount donated to Mind Bristol. Punters got to play the pros, great prizes were won in the raffle and there were a lot of laughs and support from everyone who attended.
Thank you to all of you who supported the event, came along, played pool, collected money, drank beer, and chatted to everyone who came to support us it was truly amazing that so many of you came along and were part of an incredible event.
Thank you to our sponsors Curtis Drew Ltd. and to Gareth Potts and Shane Thompson for taking the time to come along and support us in our mission for Mind Bristol! And of course to Ben Flack for not only smashing the 24hr pool-playing marathon but for putting his luscious locks on the line for a good cause.
