The Wurlitzer 1900 Centennial Jukebox comes with Free Delivery and Installation (worth £200), it has been lovingly restored and would make a great purchase for the discerning jukebox buyer.
Our Wurlitzer 1900 "Centennial" is a jukebox made in 1956. It plays 7" records at 45 RPM, so if you have a vinyl collection tucked away somewhere safe, it's time to dust off those wonderful old records and get them loaded up into a beautifully restored jukebox.
A Brief History:
1956 was to be dominated by one name and one name alone. Exactly a century had passed since Rudolf Wurlitzer had set up in business selling musical instruments in Cincinnati, and Wurlitzer was determined not to let the centenary go unnoticed. To celebrate, its two 1956 models were named the "Centennial". Taking a leaf out of the automobile industry's book, the "Centennial" was described as "custom styled".
Stylistically, the Wurlitzer "Centennial" models were a complete departure from the preceding model 1800. The top of the canopy was dominated by a silver and black glass sign reading "Wurlitzer" flanked by heavy chrome castings. The "Super-Vu" window sloped down, encasing the title rack.
The pilasters were returned to their rightful place at the front edges, but were now made of glass rather than plastic. The speaker screen was in three scetions, with the middle one jutting out in a V-shape. The record changer had a restyled arch, which was flatter and lower, and the tone arm lost its angular functional look in favour of a graceful molded sweep.
The 1900 "Centennial" model had the standard 104 selections, whereas the 2000 model had 200. There were issues however with the 2000 models due to the need to display title cards for so many selections. Wurlitzer staggered the title bank with 20 double strips on static display in the centre, and set back from this at the sides were a pair of "books", each with two fixed and two turning "pages" of titles. Motorized and with push-button controls, the "pages" were designed to turn, allowing access to the full array of titles. Unfortunately, this ingenious system was prone to breakdown, and so conversion kits became available so that the original title area could be replaced by an entirely static display.
Restored:
Our Wurlitzer 1900 "Centennial" has been lovingly restored, using original components. The chrome work has been re-chromed where necessary and gleams beautifully. It has the original glass, which has the odd scratch but doesn't detract from the look of the jukebox at all. The back and inside have been cleaned and re-painted.
She does show her age, but this is part of the machine's history, being well over 50 years old now. It has been fully serviced and lubricated and will give years of pleasure.

This jukebox is fitted with castors, which make it far easier to move, but please be aware that they can damage wooden floors. We recommend placing rugs, mats or pieces of carpet under the castors to ensure no damage occurs.
Coin Mechanism:
We sell our restored, reconditioned and used products to home users, as a result a functioning coin mechanism is not necessary, because the machine can just be set to freeplay. Many of the coin mechanisms are configured to take foreign coins or denominations which are no longer in circulation, therefore it can be difficult to actually find a coin to use in it.
Therefore we sell all these types of products as freeplay only, with the coin mechanism either not working or disconnected. You may find that it does in fact work fine, or will do so with a little WD40 and kind attention, as many won't have been used for years.
Warranty:
The Wurlitzer 1900 "Centennial" comes with 30 days warranty, to cover parts and labour. Our specialist repairer will call to your home to inspect and repair your machine. If parts are required which are not carried at the time these will need to be ordered for you, and will sometimes need to be imported from the States, therefore there can be a fairly long wait for the part to arrive.
After our 30 days warranty has expired we can put you in touch with experienced technicians in your area who will be able to carry out any repairs you need.
Jukeboxes are complicated items, which don't like being moved about. Nor do they like the cold or humidity. Therefore if you chose to move the jukebox from where we originally installed it, or it is stored in a cold or damp location our warranty will become null and void. We will also not be able to carry out any work on your machine free of charge if you have tampered with it in any way.
We have years of experience in owning and selling jukeboxes. If you look after your machine and treat it well it will give you years of trouble free enjoyment.
Commercial Use:
Where a used/secondhand/reconditioned item is not being used in a home, but is instead being placed in a commercial location such as a bar, pub, cafe, restaurant, bowling alley, trampoline park, youth club, office, factory, or similar, we will offer a 30 day on-site service warranty should any problems occur which are not a result of any misuse or malicious damage. This warranty will cover parts and labour.
