The AMI Continental II comes with Free Delivery and Installation (worth £200) and is in fantastic fully working order. It is a perfect choice for any fan of vintage jukeboxes.
The AMI Continental II jukebox is a true collector's piece, beautifully manufactured by AMI in limited numbers. The XJJB-100 AMI Continental II includes space for 50 x 45 RPM records and the ability to make up to 100 automatic selections.
It has electronic, automatic selection, enabling you to queue all 100 songs instead of having to choose a new song every time if you wish to. The astonishing sound ensures records play as clearly and crisply as they did over 50 years ago, and gives a further reason to choose this over a mono jukebox.
If you have a vinyl collection of 7-inch singles tucked away somewhere safe, the Continental II is a perfect reason to dust those wonderful old records off and get them loaded up into a beautiful classic jukebox.
The Continental range was designed to set a new standard of style, hence the unusual profile and look. The silhouette is unmistakably distinctive and the machine's lines are clean and graceful. Soft, indirect illumination highlights the rich trim and glorious colours of the cabinet.
A Brief History of AMI:
AMI started out in 1909, manufacturing coin-operated self-playing pianos under the name of the National Automatic Music Company. In 1925, the company became two divisions, with the piano manufacturing business operating under the name of National Piano Manufacturing Co. and the distribution being dealt with by Automatic Musical Instrument Co. (AMI). They manufactured their first jukebox in 1927 with the same, but gradually evolving, mechanism being utilised for the next 30 years.
AMI continued to make jukeboxes throughout the next few decades, constantly coming up with new designs including their wallbox jukeboxes in 1932, which were popular in bars and diners at the time, along with such original designs as the iconic Top Flight from 1936, the distinct Singing Towers from 1939, which was influenced by New York skyscrapers, and the famous Model A, better known as the Mother of Plastic from 1946.
During the 1950s AMI manufactured jukeboxes for the international market under alternative names, with BAL-AMI being the British name.
In 1962 AMI was bought out by Rowe AC Services, but remained one of the only jukebox manufacturers to keep providing jukeboxes throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s.
This AMI Continental II is in amazing condition, especially considering its age. There is minimal evidence of wear and we have serviced the mechanism and the amp - we highly recommend popping into our showroom to view this beautiful machine.
There's no substitute for admiring its classic design in person and experiencing the thrill of this nostalgia-inducing jukebox.
