Table Type Basics
Let’s look at the kinds of tables you will find looking across our website. Wood Bed Pool Tables, Slate Bed Pool Tables and Pool Dining Tables.
MDF Bed Pool Tables
Price Range: £399 - £629
(Pictured – Signature Bristol Pool Table)
MDF Bed Pool Tables use a treated MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) playing surface which drastically reduces the cost of production. This makes MDF tables cheap, easy to move and give you a great sized playing surface for fun at home. MDF bed tables are an ideal choice for families just looking to have fun.
Slate Bed Pool Tables
Price Range: £715+
(Pictured – Signature Tournament)
Slate bed pool tables are the most common pool tables seen in pubs, arcades or any other commercial location. Unlike and MDF bed pool table, the table’s playing surface is made up of a flat piece of slate. This makes the table super flat and controlled. For this reason, slate beds are the only pool tables precise and flat enough to be considered for tournament play.
Pool Dining Tables
Price Range: £599+
(Pictured – Montfort Lewis Pool Dining Table)
A pool dining table is a pool table with a twist. The table incorporates a shallow body, and a cover for the playing surface. This allows for people to sit at the table with accompanying chairs or benches, and then use the pool table as a regular table! This style of design has been increasingly popular with new pool table buyers over the past few years, making it an attractive dual-use option.
The best advice we can offer is to decide upon your needs as a player, and then narrow down your choices based on those needs. For example, if it’s a table that’s primarily intended for the kids to have fun with, then a wood-bed pool table is a great choice. If you’re concerned about space, then there are many benefits a Pool Dining Table can bring to allow dual usage out of a space. We recommend checking out our other guides in the knowledge hub if you want to know anything about any specific type of table.
Payment Options
So you have looked across our website and have settled upon a model you would love to own, but what is the best way to pay for it? There are many options you can choose, and again just choose the option that best suits your own individual needs. When it comes to finance options, please read the information here for more detailed specifics.
Cash
As simple as it sounds – Pay in cash at the showrooms!
Debit or Credit Card
Another very simple option – Feel free to bring your debit or credit card into the showroom where we can take a secure payment, much like you would do in any shop or retail environment. Payment can also be taken online
If you are paying for a more expensive pool table, some banks may decline card payments as a security measure, but this can be overcome by contacting your bank to authorise payment.
Paypal
Paypal is a secure online payment system that is frequently used by people for easy online transactions. If you have a paypal account, you are able to make your payment with your Paypal funds, or use the bank account linked to your account. For more details about Paypal, click here.
Amazon Pay
Amazon Pay is a service that lets you use the payment methods already associated with your Amazon account to make payments for goods, services, and donations on third-party websites, in apps, and using Amazon's Alexa. To make a payment, you can use any of the payment methods on file in your Amazon account. For more details on Amazon Pay, click here.
BACS Payment
BACS Payment utilises an expedited account-to-account transfer of funds. It’s as simple as sending a direct payment from your own account to us. We will talk you through the process of setting this up if you are unsure.
Finance Options
(Buy Now, Pay Later and other finance options are subject to status and acceptance. Contact our team for more details)
If you wish to spread the cost of your pool table, we offer a number of different finance options that allow you to pay in instalments. All of the following require no up-front deposits. The three most common options are outlined below:
Buy Now Pay Later
Buy Now, Pay Later allows you to make a purchase with us, but not put down a penny for up to 6 months (including no deposit). If you choose to pay for your table within those 6 months, you will be charged no interest, and a small admin fee. If you begin your payment after those 6 months, then you will default to a 48 month interest bearing credit agreement.
Interest Free Credit
Interest Free Credit payments allow you to spread the cost with no interest on your purchase. This allows you to pay off the value of your table over 6 to 18 months.
Interest Bearing Credit
Interest Bearing Credit works very similarly to an Interest Free Credit agreement, but allows you to make your complete payment over a much longer period of time, ultimately reducing the monthly amount. Interest bearing credit operates on a rate of 14.9% APR, and can be paid off over the period of 12 to 48 months.
Again, we recommend reading our more detailed finance information in order to make the most informed decision possible.
